Do I have to pay the monthly fee even in months when I do not use the Viber Sender ID?

For the first two months the fee is mandatory and it must be paid regardless of whether you use the service or not. After this period, you can pause the Sender ID up to 3 times/months per year. Please read in detail the terms of temporary pause of the Viber Sender ID below:

Terms of Temporary or Permanent Deactivation of Viber Sender ID


  • Temporary deactivation - Pause (without the monthly charge)

Viber offers the possibility of temporarily deactivating your account in months during which you don’t intend to send messaging campaigns. For example, if you already know that during August you will not send any campaigns, you’ll have to inform us in writing by the 15th of the previous month (July in this case) at the latest. This way, Viber will temporarily pause your account and you will not be charged for this specific month. You can pause your account up to 3 times for 3 months in one year through the platform. Keep in mind that a pause request on a later date from the 15th will pause your account the second month following that in which the pause request was submitted. 


  • Permanent Deactivation - Cancelation

In order to permanently deactivate your Viber Sender ID you have to submit a cancelation request. Regarding the timeline, if you wish the deactivation to start from the 1st of the next month then you have to submit your cancelation request by the 15th of the current month at the latest. If you do so, then your account will be deactivated and the monthly fee will stop.

Example 1: Οn time Deactivation (Temporary or Permanent)

  • Deactivation Request on 15th of April. Deactivation of the account starts on 1st of May

Example 2: Out of time Deactivation (Temporary or Permanent)

  • Deactivation Request on 16th of April. The account closes or pauses on the 1st of June. For the month of May you can send campaigns and the monthly fee applies.
